Two Bikes: Building Opportunity Through Cycling
Two Bikes is far more than your average bike shop—it’s a nonprofit on a mission to build community through cycling. Born from the legacy of DreamBikes, an initiative aimed at providing transportation access and youth job training, Two Bikes carries the torch after DreamBikes closed its doors in 2020.
Founded by Matthew Zingg and Mitchell Connell, Two Bikes was created to continue the vital work they began at DreamBikes. Their vision? To use bicycles as a tool for empowerment and opportunity.
Today, Two Bikes offers more than just tune-ups. Through their nonprofit model, they provide job training for underserved youth, free transportation solutions, and organize community bike rides. Their three core programs are designed to highlight the power of bicycles to bring people together and create lasting change in the community.

The Bike School
The Bike School is Two Bikes’ workforce development program aimed to empower youth. Through hands-on internships, young people gain valuable skills in bike maintenance, customer service, e-commerce, and more—all while working alongside experienced Two Bikes staff. It’s a stepping stone to future job opportunities and personal growth.
Pedal It Forward
A great initiative Two Bikes honors is Pedal It Forward. For every bike sold, they donate one to someone in need. Donated bicycles are refurbished by the team and given a second life in the hands of individuals who may not otherwise have access to a bike—helping break down barriers to mobility and independence.
Community Rides & Outreach
Two Bikes hosts regular community rides designed to bring people together in a fun, welcoming environment. These laid-back events are open to all ages and experience levels, offering a great way to explore Knoxville, meet new people, and experience the joy of cycling as a community
