Knoxville thrives because of the incredible organizations working every day to uplift our community—and many of them are doing powerful work to support our youth. At Connecting Knox, our mission is to connect residents—both new and longtime—to the people, programs, and places that make our city shine. Today, we’re proud to spotlight three standout organizations dedicated to empowering the next generation. Whether you're looking for opportunities for your children or feel inspired to get involved yourself, these groups are making a real impact—and they’re just a connection away.

Knoxville Children’s Theatre

More than just a local theatre company, KCT offers youth the chance to grow as performers—and as people. Through acting, stagecraft, and collaboration, young participants develop valuable life skills like leadership, teamwork, and personal responsibility. What makes KCT truly special is its commitment to accessibility, ensuring every child has the opportunity to shine on stage. Their exciting 2025 season features ten productions throughout the year. Girl Scouts of Southern Appalachians

The Girl Scout Council of the Southern Appalachians (GSCSA) is our region’s chapter of Girl Scouts, bringing together girls and women to build courage, confidence, and character as they work to make the world a better place. Through the guidance of volunteers and mentors, Girl Scouts discover who they are, what they care about, and how they can make a difference. Whether they’re trying something new, taking on challenges, giving back to their communities, or simply having fun, Girl Scouts build friendships, leadership skills, and lifelong memories. From camping trips to creative projects, service work to science experiments, being a Girl Scout opens the door to adventure, growth, and purpose.
