Connecting Knox is a growing business now with a team of three. We share the mission to keep it local and connect the Knoxville communities with local businesses, events and communities. Our goal is to create lasting relationships, support local economies, and ensure locals are provided with the information they need to feel at home. Now that you know a little bit about the company get to know the team behind the logo.

Justin Martinez, Co-Founder & Owner

Connecting Knox

Justin is a former Sergeant in the United States Army. He holds many awards and accommodations for his service. Justin completed and passed the U.S. Army Ranger leadership course, conducted a nine month deployment to Afghanistan under Operation Enduring Freedom and was Honorably discharged in 2015.

After the Army, Justin obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Business Entrepreneurship and Master’s degree in Real Estate Development. During college, Justin ran two successful businesses. One where he led door to door sales teams and the other, a healthy food vending machine company. Justin moved to Tennessee in 2021 to live where he always wanted to.

After moving to Tennessee, Justin built a successful real estate portfolio, including Airbnb properties and single family homes. Quickly, Justin faced the challenge of connecting with local businesses and residents in Knoxville. He saw the need to bring together the best of what Knoxville has to offer in an easy to use app. From there Justin partnered with Patrick Miley Jr. (Miley) to develop Connecting Knox.

Patrick Miley Jr. (Miley), Co-Founder & Operations Manager

Connecting Knox

Miley is an accomplished professional with a diverse background blending healthcare, business, and education. With an MBA in Organizational Management and BSN in nursing, Miley brings the perspective of a business development manager, coach, and entrepreneur. His journey began in the healthcare field, gaining experience as a registered nurse in the intensive care unit at top medical centers across the country.

Miley founded and owns Insight 2 Action, a business development service company, where he applies his strategic vision and leadership skills to help other entrepreneurs achieve their goals. As a business and career coach, Miley guides entrepreneurs and first-gen students through challenges to help them turn their goals into reality.

He co-founded Connecting Knox with Justin to bring the Knox County community together through the app. Beyond his professional achievements, Miley is committed to the Knoxville Community. He founded the Knox Paddleboarding Group, a local book group, and engages in various local initiatives.

Following graduation Aimee worked at WVLT News as a photojournalist. For three years she gained valuable experience in visual storytelling and multimedia production. Aimee brings her expertise of all things East Tennessee to the Connecting Knox team. From covering UT Athletics, Hurricane Helene, local festivals, local government and everything in between. She is excited to deepen the connection of new and old residents to the city of Knoxville.
